Earn a college credential AND your GED® – at the same time!
Ability to Benefit

Ability to Benefit (ATB) offers you the opportunity to earn your GED® Credential while acquiring a college-level certificate within one or two semesters.  This dual-enrollment program gives qualified students access to both the federal PELL grant and state HOPE grant. Students must demonstrate that they can be successful in college level studies.

The programs offered are:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Data Center Specialist 
  • Cyber Crime Specialist
  • Cybersecurity Specialist
  • Logistic Management Specialist
  • Linux/Unix System Administrator
  • Medical Assistant
  • Network Administrator
  • PC Repair and Network Technician

How does a student qualify for ATB?
Adult-Education program pre-qualifications:

  1. Student must be enrolled in the Adult Education Program
  2. Pass the Math and Language GED® test
  3. Interview with the coordinator for acceptance or alternative options

ATB Program qualifications: Participation is based on acceptance in federal aid program:

  1. Apply for financial aid (FAFSA) and qualify to receive award based on family income and citizenship status
  2. Select from one of the programs listed above
  3. Continue attending classes in the Adult Education program
  4. Pass the remaining two GED® tests within first semester of entering college
