FAFSA Help

If you’re going to college or sending a child to college, then you’ve heard the term “FAFSA.” The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Anyone who wants financial aid for college will need to fill out the FAFSA. The application is used to determine the dollar amount you or your family will be expected to contribute towards college. All federal grant and loan awards are determined by the FAFSA, and nearly all colleges use the FAFSA as the basis for their own financial aid awards.

Though it sounds overwhelming, filling one out isn’t as difficult as it seems. We have provided some helpful videos to assist you with completing your FAFSA below (Gwinnett Technical College School Code: 016139):

Gwinnett Technical College has partnered with the Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC), a TRiO Program at Georgia State University (GSU), which provides services to individuals in the Gwinnett County area with postsecondary enrollment services. This partnership allows all new and returning students to receive hands-on assistance with completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Need help completing your FAFSA? Join us for our FAFSA Workshop, held every other Thursday on the Lawrenceville campus. For full details, download the FAFSA Workshop flyer.

For your 2025-2026 FAFSA, please have your FSA ID and your 2023 Federal Tax Returns readily available.
