GWINNETT, GA — Gwinnett Technical College continues its remarkable growth trajectory, reporting 15,689 students enrolled for the 2025 academic year, marking nine consecutive semesters of enrollment increases. This fall alone, more than 12,300 students are enrolled—a 12% increase over last year—with additional growth expected from the upcoming Term C mini-mester in November. The surge follows an impressive 15% enrollment increase in Spring 2025.

President Dr. D. Glen Cannon attributes this momentum to several strategic factors:
- Transfer students from four-year colleges seeking hands-on, career-ready skills and cost-effective education.
- High-demand programs fully covered by HOPE, allowing students to pursue their goals without financial strain.
- Affordable tuition and fast-track career pathways, supported by growing internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Robust industry partnerships that align academic programs with real-world job market needs.
“While we are starting with over 12,000, we anticipate reaching around 12,500 after our mid-semester Term C enrollment is finalized,” said Dr. Cannon. “Our community is increasingly drawn to the affordable, flexible, and experiential learning environment at Gwinnett Tech. We remain committed to delivering programs that meet the evolving needs of our students and local industries.”
Gwinnett Tech now offers over 160 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs, with new additions designed to meet emerging workforce demands. For Spring 2026, the College will launch a Practical Nursing program on the Lawrenceville campus, expanding access to one of the region’s most in-demand healthcare careers.
Additionally, the College has introduced new certificate programs in:
- Veterinary Technology
- Mechatronics
- Electrical Systems Technology
- Business Technology
- Advanced Automotive Technology, including Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Service Technician
- Welding
These additions build on the 20 new certificates introduced earlier this year in fields such as information technology, cosmetology/barbering, automotive technology, electric vehicle technology, and healthcare.
Gwinnett Technical College continues to be a leader in workforce development, equipping students with the skills and credentials needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
