CLEP Exam

CLEP Testing Instructions

Earn college credit for what you already know by taking a CLEP exam! Passing scores on one or more of the 33 CLEP exams can save you time and tuition by allowing you to skip introductory courses.

Steps to Register and Schedule Your CLEP Exam:

  1. Register with CLEP:
    • Visit the CLEP at https://clep.collegeboard.org/
    • Create an account, select your exam, and pay the fee.
    • Register using the exact name on your Government Issued ID.
  2. Print Your Registration Ticket:
    • Your ticket is valid for six months.
  3. Schedule Your Test at Gwinnett Tech, select the campus below

Important Reminders:

  • Bring one valid, government-issued ID with your photo, signature, and full name in English. School IDs and pictures on a phone are not accepted.
  • Talk with your advisor (Gwinnett Tech) or registrar (other schools) to ensure you select the correct test.
  • If taking the College Composition exam, allow 2-5 weeks for essay scoring when planning around course registration.
  • CLEP exams can be retaken after three months.
