Gwinnett Tech’s Nurse Aide certificate provides interactive, hands-on learning. Students learn patient care by taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, assisting with activities of daily living, and observing and charting patient information. With the Nurse Aide credential, students can get an entry-level healthcare position as a certified nursing assistant, nurse aide, nurse assistant, geriatric aide, or hospital attendant.

This program prepares graduates for careers in the healthcare field. This one-semester program (after you complete your prerequisite courses.)

This program is offered at Gwinnett Tech’s Lawrenceville campuses.

What can I expect from this program?

This program provides interactive, hands-on learning. Students learn patient care by taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, assisting with activities of daily living, and observing and charting patient information.

What duties do Nurse Aides perform in the work field?

Nurse aides provide intimate, hands-on healthcare to patients in diverse settings, helping with bathing, dressing, and basic living activities. Your duties may include repositioning bedridden patients, taking vital signs, feeding patients, and so much more…
